man- kind of a combo of both- if you grip too hard it goes in the forearms- so , treehfore, it is a bit of each-loosening the grip at the right time, yet holding it tight enough so it doesn't fall out of your hand. Funny thing is if you are too tight you get it in forearms, too loose then you get a strain on the inside of the arm, still forearms but on the inside. Let's call it this- loose grip but never out of the palm of the hand and never falling toward the finger tips.
